**UPDATE** SYLVIA HAS BEEN TREATED and ADOPTED!

Sylvia has a sad and happy story. She was found wandering the country side in the rain, and her coat matted to the skin. Sylvia was full of milk but the animal control officer could not find her pups.....

Sylvia was taken to animal control depressed and looking at a unknown future. As fate often does, Sylvia was needed by us that night. We had a rescued Chi with newborn pups that were bitten by a brown recluse spider. Her fever ran high her milk dried up. We didn't know what to do. We called the rescue co-coordinator at the shelter and she told us about Sylvia and we drove to brown county to get her. She took the pups like they were her own, and that let the real mothering work on healing. The other mom and pups are all adopted, and we took Sylvia in to be spayed and tested.

Sylvia tested positive for heartworms which is 100% fatal if not treated. Sylvia not only needs a home after her treatment is done but we need donations to have this expensive treatment, we owe this awesome momma dog for all she has been through.

Sylvia is more like the older folks dog, calm laid back 13 lbs and a lap girl. We do crate her when we go out as she is still young herself (under 2) and gets into trouble left alone. She is working on house training but we don't stress her too much with her condition. I would love to see her with a retired lady or couple . Someplace quiet where she can be spoiled.
