Volunteering

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our ADOPTION OUTREACH program that saves the lives of hundreds of pets in our shelter every year.

The outreach work includes working as adoption guides at the shelter, assisting visitors with counseling and answering questions about the pets, and in off-site adoption work at places like Petco and Atwood.

Without volunteers, the quality of life of pets in the animal shelter is much lower. They are seldom taken out for walks, bathed, or just socialized in general, without volunteers. Our volunteers provide most of this sort of care.

The Animal Shelter is in need of help in too many ways to mention them all here. If you wish to give some of yourself to the homeless cats and dogs of your community, please contact us at 903-784-6774.

Without volunteers hundreds more cats and dogs in the Animal Shelter will die. The staff only has so much time to devote to adoption work. The problem of pet overpopulation belongs to the community as a whole, not just to the people that work at the Animal Shelter.
