Virginia State Law requires that all animals adopted from a Humane Society must be spayed or neutered.

It is our policy that no adoptions are made outside of Amherst County, Nelson County, or the City of Lynchburg unless the animal is at least six months old and can be spayed or neutered before it leaves the area.
