Monroe County Animal Shelter is a county owned shelter serving Monroe County, located in Sparta, WI. We are dedicated to helping lost, homeless, and owner surrendered dogs in Monroe County. Each dog is spayed or neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption. We have 7 indoor runs with heat, air-conditioning, individual lounge beds, and a dedicated group of volunteers who take great care of the animals.
Upon intake each dog is treated for internal parasites, and treated with a 30 day flea and tick preventative. Once a week we have a licensed Veterinarian visit our Shelter to give all impounded dogs a Wellness Examination. At that time they receive a Rabies vaccination, a DHLPP vaccination, and selected dogs get checked for heartworm, lymes and anaplasmosis.
We have an adoption fee of $70.00.
