In Memory of Kenneth J. Newman
October 5, 1949-April 16, 2013
Our deepest sympathies to Kenneth's family and friends. Kennth and his wife Deborah-Lee adopted Scout from SFTS in 2010. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, working on cars and walking through town with his ever-present buddy, Scout. We'd like to thank all those who made a donation in Kenneth's name.
Maggie is a young lab that is new to the rescue. Sadly, on Friday night she was hit by a car. Her owners took her to Veterinary Emergency Services but were unable to afford the veterinary care she needed. VES called us and we rarely say no in these situations, so Maggie is now ours. She has a badly broken pelvis that will need surgery. Currently she is unable to walk. Estimates to repair her pelvis are starting at $4,000.
UPDATE 4/6/13! Maggie had surgery on her Pelvis Friday. Thank you to all who helped to make this possible. Dr. Little and Dr. Sutherland, Residents from the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Teaching Hospital and their team of vet student and intern took time out of their day to come to Spay Me! and Perform Surgery on Maggie. Everyone who took a minute to donate, share or just care about Maggie made it possible for us to help her!
UPDATE 4/9/13! With the help of many generous donors, we were able to raise $3,055! We'd like you to know that she she is doing FANTASTIC.
