Who We Are Halfway Home K9 Adoption is a volunteer organization committed to making sure that no dog is left behind. We assist with mixed breeds and others that come to pure breed rescue. These dogs are often over-looked by adopters seeking a specific breed. We list with PetFinder as an avenue of additional exposure to aid in finding the right forever home!
Each dog receives all needed veterinary care prior to adoption, including but not limited to spay/neuter, vaccinations and HW testing. These costs do not come close to covering our expenses. The cost of office exam(s), spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, heartworm test, medication and other expenses can easily be three times the adoption fee.
All dogs listed are located in WI. We do not take in dogs from their owners. We work closely with breed rescues and shelters.
Adopting a Friend Adoption procedures ensure that the dog will be placed in a suitable home. You will be required to fill out an application, have a home visit by a volunteer, and have personal and veterinarian references checked. Only homes where dogs and cats are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations will be considered. Exceptions are made if there's a medical reason. The adoption fee is $125.00
