Loba

From Loba's new family:

Lindy, John & Amy:

Loba was fine for most of the trip. She only was ill on Rt. 64, then sat quietly and watched the the landscape pass. To the moment, the dear girl has found her way around the house, met her first neighbor at 6:45 am, 1/02/03, not to mention she located the "BIG BED", onto which she ceremoniously placed her toy GOOSE and PARAKEET, so as to have her friends help her watch the new world through the corner windows.

To digress in time a bit, at 4:30 am, 1/02/03, Loba climbed into the sack with Maggie, Mel and myself. Feeling no rebuttal from Queen Maggie , she rolled into a ball and slept well until I got her up near 6:00 am. Mel and I think she would sleep until 9:00 am or so if on her own schedule.

Yesterday, only 24 hours after arriving home, she was hungry. To tell Melanie of her interest she picked up her dish and cordially walked it from the kitchen to the dining room (What better hint can one provide of wanted services?).

On Friday, 1/04/03, Loba will meet her new Vet at which time we expect she will make a few new friends as well as impress some strangers in the waiting room.

We'll Keep you informed of the process.

For the moment, have a good day.

Keith & Melanie

And from Loba:

Hi Lindy and John,
My ride to this new place was really long and boy did I get sick. I got to this house about 2:10 pm and by 2:15pm I was in the tub and was all lathered up, someone said I smelled funny...beats me!!! After they dried me off with about 4 towels and brushed me they built a fire in the fireplace so I could dry. I really like the fireplace, I seem to fall asleep there alot. I think Maggie is aloof but she does let me walk beside her and boy does she know the way. We took a walk around the cemetery, up the hill down the hill, I think that was neat. I have to tell you, I did tell them when I needed a patch of grass so I was a good girl...They make me sit all the time for things..like for my leash, to get a treat...I try to wait them out but so far they win out..I guess thats not a bad thing.

They are excited today about something (1-1-02) today..They went out for about an hour this morning and I found all of these toys in a basket...I had to check them out one by one, there were big bones to chew, a bird that churps and some other animals...I put some of them on my spot. I have my own spot in the bedroom. I already had two walks today, they don't mind walking in the rain as long as its not raining real hard...You know me either way it wouldn't bother me. I'm really tired now so I just wanted to thank you for letting me go for a big ride...I think I'll like it here so I hope you won't mind If I don't move back.

Thanks.

Love, Loba

ps. Thanks Amy for all of your help too, I'm really glad I didn't have to go to Boston...boy that would really take long.
