The Preston County Animal Shelter is pleased to anounce our new partnership in 2007 with the Hearts-N-Paws program, which will place some of our shelter dogs in the Paws4Prisons™ training programs for assistance and community dogs.

We are proud to introduce the first two dogs graduating from the program, Geneva and Lacie!  They have been trained as "Best Friends," the basic obedience and house training level for companion dogs.  Please click on their photos below to read more about them and how to apply to adopt them.

We look forward to updating this page as additional dogs are accepted into the program throughout the year.  Dogs entering the program must be spayed or neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, wormed, free of fleas/ticks, and have routine testing for common canine diseases.  Business or individiuals may sponsor a program dog's veterinary requirements.  Please contact the shelter for details.
Geneva is sponsored by RJ Company of Bruceton Mills, WV.  Click on her picture to read her letter to Santa and learn how to adopt her.
