Our Adoption Process

Thank you for considering a Karmana Farm Rescue Pet.

Karmana Farm's goal is to provide you with a thoughtful adoption process in order to provide the best possible match between adopters and pets. For this reason we ask quite a few thought provoking questions on our application. We also provide post-adoption follow up and support to help ensure a happy and successful match that can last forever. Together we can plan for success during each pet's transition to their new home.

Carefully read the biography of the Karmana Farm pet you are considering as every effort has been made to provide you with a brief, yet accurate, summary of this pet. Some of the descriptions are in story form designed to capture the essence of the pet's nature. Karmana Farm will provide you with as much information, both positive and negative, as we have about the pet you are considering once your application has been approved. Every application is given prompt and thoughtful consideration with 'the bottom line' being the needs of the adoptable pet. It is not possible to list every trait, behavior and need under consideration for each pet in the description, however this information is always shared with applicants during the adoption process. 

The Karmana Farm Adoption Process:

1. Complete the Non-Binding On-Line Application

2. Receive e-mail or phone contact within 48 hours confirming receipt of your application. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours we have not received your application. Please call 304-283-1502 or e-mail us at karmanafarm@hughes.net so we can assist you.

3. Personal and Veterinary References are checked.

4. Phone call to further discuss the adoptable pet and, if agreement is reached, schedule a time for the family to meet the pet.

5. Karmana Farm Volunteer to complete the Home Visit. Please note that steps 4 & 5 do not always occur in that order. Each adoption is process unique.

6. If agreement is reached, complete the Adoption on the day of the meeting provided the home visit has been completed and all references checked. There is an Adoption Contract and Requested Donation for each pet.
