Dachshund Mix Puppies born to "Nixie" on February 17, 2008.

Birth-day dinner! Nixie has been a great Mom in every way!

Karmana Farm's On-line Application Karmana Farm's Adoptable pets can meet approved adopters by individual appointment in Frederick, MD or here at the farm. Karmana Farm is an all volunteer Rescue & Sanctuary. We always take whatever time prospective adopters need to evaluate and bond with the adoptable pet they are considering. Our commitment is to find the best possible match between family and adoptable pet.

If you have submitted an on-line application and did not receive a written or phone reply within 48 hours, we did not receive the application. If you have a big heart and a couple of hours to spare on occasion, would you be willing to take a rescue dog for a drive to the local park or pet store for a Rescue Dog's Day Out from time to time? The dogs love our Rescue Dog's Day Out Volunteers best of all because 'they treat us so special' and 'help us learn the ropes' to get ready for our forever homes. Dakotah's Team is growing! Happy 10th Birthday this year to Mr. Dakotah! Way to go big guy! We love you and we're all rooting for you! On the left is Dakotah and to the right is his Best Friend in Spirit, Sable. Sable's family is sponsoring Dak's sanctuary care in loving memory of their special friend who also had DM. We are sure that when these boys meet in heaven, in that special place reserved for the great dogs, they will enjoy a good run together free from all of the earthly limitations caused by Degenerative Myelopathy. Tips & Tidbits, This & That

       ‘Karmana’ is a Sanskrit word meaning 'action or activity'. We are dedicated to helping abandoned, neglected and homeless animals find a forever home that meets their special needs. We have fostered or given sanctuary to dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, and a guinea pig to date. We also work in support of some of our area colleagues in rescue.

       Where possible, Karmana Farm utilizes natural and holistic methods to support the health of animals in our care. Our belief is that good nutrition is the foundation of health, therefore we use home prepared food and super premium kibble for our dogs. Each animal's individual supplementation needs are addressed using herbs, homeopathics, and probiotics, as well as other sources of nutritional support for healing. We also use healing touch and massage . Our belief is that holistic practices can be successfully integrated with conventional veterinary care for optimal health.
